Our Mission: At the Comal Thrift Shoppe, our mission is to provide affordable, high-quality clothing, jewelry, housewares, furniture, and more to the residents of Comal and the surrounding counties. By doing so, we aim to better serve our clients who are survivors of domestic and sexual violence, as well as women and children experiencing homelessness.
Our Story: The Comal Thrift Shoppe was launched on September 16th, 2021, thanks to the generous donations from our wonderful community. When our clients arrive, they have the opportunity to choose essential items from our collection of donated goods. Our dedicated staff and volunteers then carefully curate a high-end collection to be housed at the Comal Thrift Shoppe. Shoppers are welcome to browse and make purchases at their leisure, knowing that the proceeds directly fund our programs and services.
Supporting Our Community: The Comal Thrift Shoppe plays a pivotal role in supporting various programs and services offered by the Crisis Center of Comal County. These include a children’s prevention program, a 24/7/365 crisis hotline and response team, individual and group counseling, transportation services, medical care and referrals, SAFE accompaniments, legal advocacy and court accompaniments, protective order assistance, prevention education and awareness initiatives for the community, and peer support groups.
